Skin Peels

What is a peel?
This is a chemical peel, which can be used on face, neck, décollete and hands. This face peel contains trichloacetic acid and is thought to be the safest TCA (Trichloracetic Acid) peel available.

Who should have a TCA peel?
Anyone can have an Easy TCA face peel in order to "refresh and tighten” skin.
Treatment is also beneficial for problems such as
• Acne scarring
• Enlarged facial pores
• Hyperpigmentation
• Uneven pigmentation caused by sun exposure
• "Age spots"

What does treatment involve?
The Easy TCA peel solution is applied to problematic areas and works by peeling away top layers skin. No prior preparation is necessary. The peel works to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the skin, promoting a fresher, more radient complexion.

How long does procedure take and how many treatments will I need?
The procedure takes just 10 - 15 minutes. Younger skins requiring a lift may only need 1-2 peels. For more problematic skin a course of 4 treatments is recommended, one week apart.

What happens after wards?
For 20 - 30 minutes skin may be red afterwards. After care instructions are given at treatment. Sun protection is vital after treatment. The peeling process begins on day 3 and should be complete around 7 days after application of peel.

Is there any 'downtime'?
No. You can still attend work, but peeling may be visible and makeup may not sit correctly for the first week or so post treatment, however this is minimal.

What is advisable if I have deep lines but can't organise to come back for 4 weeks?

Unideep is a more aggressive peel that may benefit you. This peel gives the same result as 4 consecutive Easy TCA peels. The disadvantage of this peel is that the down time is greater; you would have to take a week off work.

Glycolic Peels
Glycolic Peels are derived from sugar cane and works by loosening the glue-like attachments that occurs in acne, pigmentation, and skin ageing. Glycolic peels reduce fine lines and wrinkles, acne and acne scarring.
Usually approximately six treatments are recommended.

The Home Care Programme
Prior to your peel your medical practitioner will advise a home care programme for 2 weeks before your peel. The home care programme contains lower percentages of glycolic acid in order to ensure that your skin is able to tolerate glycolic acids.

What happens on the day of your Glycolic peel?
• Your skin is cleansed first
• The glycolic peel is then applied to your skin. You may experience a mild stinging sensation. The peel is left on your skin for adequate time to obtain good results. This will be determined by your medical practitioner
• Your skin may become red after the peel and there may be white frosting in some areas. Redness will subside in first few day, this is normal.
• It is vital that you wear sun protection factor on your skin after your peel. You should not expose your skin to the sun after your peel.
• Do not pick at peeling skin.

Consultation €50, redeemable on your first treatment.
