Lip Reshaping and Volumising

Which products are suitable for Lip injections?
Restylane Lipp®/ Teosyal Kiss®. These products contain hyaluronic acid which is a substance which occurs naturally in your body. These products are entirely natural and are non – animal based. Hyaluronic acid lasts for approximately 6 months and after this time is slowly broken down by the body.

Restylane Lipp® is a crystal- clear form of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in lips but diminishes with age. Restylane lip replaces hyaluronic acid, thus maintaining lip fullness and definition. As the gel particle breaks down water takes its place. Enhancement with Restylane Lipp dramatises the impact of lipstick and minimises impact of "lipstick bleed".

How does the treatment work?
Using a very fine needle small amounts of the product is injected into the body of the lip and also the vermillion border which is the edge of your lip.
As lip injections can be painful we administer an anaesthetic injection to numb the area so the procedure is relatively painless. The procedure takes just 30 mins. You can carry on with your normal activities, although you may experience lip swelling for 24- 48 hours afterward.

What are the possible side–effects?
Swelling is common after lip injections. This may be minimised by applying a cool pack to the treated area.
Bruising may occur, redness, tenderness of the injection site for a few days. Also site may feel itchy but all these are temporary effects.
The treatment is very safe, as Slievemore Clinic only uses products with a proven track record and which have FDA approval.

How long does it last?
Restylane Lipp lasts 6- 9 months, Teosyal 6-12months, depending on area treated and severity of wrinkle.

Who is suitable for treatment?
Clients with small flat lips or Asymmetry in lip contour.
People with 'Smokers Lines'.
Individuals who wish for a plumper pout

Who is not suitable for treatment?
Anyone with Lupus / Connective Tissue Disorders, Clotting problems, Individuals prone to keloid scarring, or anyone on Roaccutane treatment. If you have active cold sores treatment must be postponed until these have settled. Any history of cold sores may trigger an episode. You may not have treatment if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

What is advised prior to treatment?
It is advisable to study your lips and how they fit in with your general appearance in order to achieve your ultimate expectations.

Is it safe?
Restylane has a proven track record of more than 4 million treatments across 70 countries; no other treatment can offer such reassurance.

Is it painful?
No. A dental block i.e. injection local anaesthetic into gums minimises discomfort.

Recommendations after your treatment
It is advisable to avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours after your treatment. Avoid applying lipstick for first 12 hours.

What will I look like after my treatment?
After lip treatment you can expect to be swollen. The cause is unknown, however this will resolve itself completely within 1 week.

Will I get a trout pout?
