Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure
Dermaroller™ medical device produces thousands of microscopic needle-columns in the skin. Each column penetrates the dermis of the skin (0.1mm in width). This will close rapidly enabling skin to recover quickly – often the same day. Dr Fay will use a topical anaesthetic to numb the area being treated to make the procedure comfortable. It will normally take up to 30minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and a further 20 to 30 minutes for the Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure.

After the procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. New collagen and elastin is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks for visible signs or regeneration and repair to be seen, with the process continuing over the following months, providing you with a gradual and long lasting enhancement.

Three treatments at six week intervals are recommended for optimal results. However in some cases, particularly with acne and other types of scarring may require up to 5 treatments.

Dermaroller™ Therapy After care
Immediately after your Dermaroller™ Therapy you will look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after 1- 2 hrs and will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day. Chiroxy oxidating cream can be applied following your procedure to help soothe and calm the skin.

Use tepid water to cleanse the face for the following 48hrs and dry gently, always make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area.

It is recommended that make up is not applied for 12 to 24hours after the procedure.

If you will be in daylight immediately after procedure apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen SPF50.
